Tech Tip for Big Brake Kits
When running big brake kits such as Brembo's, watch your torque settings.
Since this is a floating system, the attachment hardware is actually
attached at a low torque and is kept tight with locking springs and
thread locking compound to preload the assembly. This has been done
to prevent excessive noise from the system during street use, while
still maintaining the benefits of a floating disc. Make sure not to
over torque the rotors to the brake hats. This can cause warpage and
a pulsing brake pedal. Worse, it can damage the brake hat itself requiring
replacement. |
